InCrisis is the first organization to develop a
comprehensive Internet-based information and screening service for parents of youth
that meets the highest professional and ethical standards for development
and operation. Reports
are for parents and care-givers who need information, guidance and
options. InCrisis does not provide treatment,

Screening and research tools are donated to
Mentor Research Institute for
the purpose of research and providing services to Oregonians at not charge. InCrisis
incorporated in October 2003 and is located in Bend, Oregon. InCrisis
maintains a service and research collaboration with Mentor Research Institute
(MRI) supporting research and free screening services through MRI's mission as a 501(c)3
consumer protection information, education and research institute. MRI
maintains responsibility and oversight for services provided.
Mission
The mission of InCrisis is to provide internet-based analysis and
screening services for parents and caretakers with children who do
not have timely or affordable access to qualified mental health
care services. InCrisis
will strive to make services comprehensive, reliable,
valid and useful. Services will be designed and promoted to
enhance and complement the role of face-to-face professional
services. InCrisis will
conduct research that benefits society and allows us to ensure the
quality and ongoing improvement of our services. InCrisis will provide
no charge screening
services
through non-profit partnerships with Mentor Research Institute
where it benefits the well-being of children.
Background
InCrisis develops online information processing
services available on the Web. The company develops computer-assisted behavioral analyses for children ages 11 to
17. This service uses a form of expert
system computer technology. The system has been under research and
development since 1989.
InCrisis was created because the behavioral and mental health problems
facing
parents and children are larger than our current health care system's
capacity to address in a timely manner. The goal of InCrisis is to support
parents, schools, health care agencies, and health care professionals with
mental health education and personalized information.
InCrisis believes that no educational or
information processing service can replace the value of face-to-face
assessment and treatment by a qualified professional. We provide an
optional and logical first step for parents and informed caregivers who
live in remote areas, those who do not have access to qualified mental
health professionals and those who cannot afford or locate appropriate
screening services. We believe that meaningful
information is the first step in
getting help. We believe that parents have both a right and responsibility to monitor
their child's health and well being.
InCrisis does not
provide professional evaluation, assessment, treatment, diagnostic, crisis or emergency services. Our Web site users are
customers and are not patients.
The development and
operation of this Web site is based on research as well as formal consultation
and professional review. InCrisis has taken reasonable steps to
ensure that
the services provided are both professional and ethical.
